On official occasions attended by the President of the Republic of Finland or a visiting head of state, the sash of the Grand Cross is worn over the waistcoat, and official decorations may be worn on the chest; no more than two neck badges and four stars may be worn.

The Insignia of Merit for Public Service (for 30 years’ service) is worn above the position of decorations worn on the chest.

Decorations are not worn with a lounge suit. However, a designation may be worn in the buttonhole of the left lapel. On ladies’ attire, the designation is worn in the corresponding position.
